It’s been long 15 years for the ‘Gears of War’ franchise. The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson had announced over Twitter that he’s leaving Microsoft Studios to join Blizzard Entertainment. Rod’s new scenery will start in March, where he will be focusing on new projects working on the Diablo franchise. Rod Fergusson isn’t any random guy, He’s been apart of the Gears series since 2007. After Gears of War 3 Cliff Bleszinski, the creator of the “Gears Franchise” retired from Epic Games back in 2012.

Fergusson stepped up to the plate to take on the challenge. Along with The Coalition, they started off with “Gears of War Ultimate Edition” in 2015. This was a remastered version of the classic ‘Gears of War’ back in 2006 that launched on Xbox 360. A year later, TC released ‘Gears of War 4’. Then we head into ‘Gears 5‘ which had a lot of bugs, and issues to this day. Cliff Bleszinski has been very vocal on Twitter after the news broke about Rod leaving TC. In a few tweet’s Cliff even hinted, he’s willing to come back to work on ‘Gears 6’ as a consultant. Do you think Microsoft will reach out in time? knowing that Rod has decided to part ways from Coalition where does that lead Gears in 2020?
